The Senmei SM1600-Q is a fully automatic paper core cutting machine designed for industrial cores — long tubes with thick walls that need precise length, clean edges, and consistent cycle time. A servo-driven feed carriage delivers a fresh tube into the cutting bay, the blade indexes to the recipe-driven length, and the cut core is discharged onto the takeaway conveyor.

The platform handles Ø 30–160 mm tubes up to 1,600 mm long with wall thicknesses from 0.8 mm to 10 mm. Length accuracy stays below 0.5 mm across the full cycle, with recipe-stored parameters for textile cores, BOPP film cores, carpet cores, and fireworks tubes.

Working principle

How the SM1600-Q runs.

Tubes are loaded into the hopper manually or by an upstream spiral winder. A servo-driven feed carriage picks up the longest tube, indexes it to the cutting bay, and holds it under clamp pressure. The blade descends at recipe-controlled speed and depth, then retracts; the cut core is released onto the takeaway conveyor and the carriage indexes to the next length.

Recipe parameters — blade type, blade depth, feed rate, clamp pressure — are stored per tube diameter, wall thickness, and length. The HMI surfaces live production count, reject count, blade life remaining, and current recipe. Blade wear is logged automatically and a service alert fires when it's time to swap.
