• 254 nm UVC lamps. Twenty 350 W mercury-vapor lamps delivering 254 nm UVC — the wavelength most effective against surface-borne bacteria and mold.
• Continuous mesh-belt feed. Stainless mesh belt, 114 mm wide, indexed through the 4,000 mm irradiation zone at recipe-controlled speed for repeatable dose.
• Tunnel geometry. 4,500 mm equipment length with 250 mm feed-in and 250 mm discharge sections, 300 mm entrance and exit height — sized for snack cans and small packaged goods.
• Lamp redundancy. Individual lamp monitoring flags any failed lamp on the HMI; the line keeps running until the next planned stop.
• Stainless contact surfaces. 304 stainless mesh, lamp housing, and product guides — built for food plants and easily CIP-cleaned between runs.
• Recipe library. Belt speed and lamp power profiles stored per product format — Senmei engineers pre-load your can size before FAT.
• Lamp-hour tracking. Lamp-life counters on the HMI predict replacement intervals and surface cumulative dose.

Standard configuration.

How the SM-4200 runs.

Sealed cans or packaged product enter the tunnel through the 250 mm feed zone. Inside the chamber, twenty 350 W mercury-vapor lamps arranged in staggered rows bathe the product in 254 nm UVC light as it travels the 4,000 mm irradiation length on the stainless mesh belt. Belt speed is recipe-controlled to deliver a target cumulative dose at the configured throughput.

Discharge through the 250 mm exit zone returns the product to downstream packaging — case packing, shrink-wrapping, or palletizing. The control panel surfaces live belt speed, individual lamp status, lamp hours, and chamber temperature. Lamp life is tracked automatically, and a service alert fires when the cumulative UV dose at the working face begins to drift.

Where the SM-4200 fits.

• Snack can surface sterilization. Filled and sealed potato chip, nut, and popcorn cans run through as a final finishing step before case packing.
• Confectionery packaging. Sealed candy and chocolate tubes surface-treated to reduce mold risk on long-haul SKUs.
